NVIDIA is reportedly set to unveil its next-gen "Blackwell Ultra" AI lineup at the GTC conference in March of next year, setting the stage for the next phase of AI.
For those unaware, Team Green is expected to launch the successor to the Blackwell generation in just a few months from now on, and while the specific launch dates haven't been official yet, a report from Taiwan Economic Daily claims that NVIDIA's GTC 2025 will mark the debut of the next-gen AI architecture. "Blackwell Ultra," or the B300 series, is rumored to come with significantly bumped-up performance compared to Hopper and Blackwell counterparts. It is said that Taiwan's supply chain has already started to prep for the upcoming lineup.
In terms of the specifications of "Blackwell Ultra," it is rumored that NVIDIA is planning to go big on power figures this time, as the GB300 AI server is supposed to feature up to 1400W of TDP, which is a massive rise when compared against the Blackwell GB200, which stands at 1000W. With the architectural upgrades, we are looking at around 1.4 times higher FP4 performance when compared to the previous generation, which is a phenomenal improvement.
Other improvements include higher memory capacity from 192 GB to 288 GB by effectively utilizing 12-Hi stacks of HBM3E technology. Given that NVIDIA hasn't mentioned Blackwell Ultra's release explicitly for now, we aren't sure of a specific release date yet, but keeping in mind the "one-year cadence," we are looking at Q4 2025 as a timeline for the B300 series to drop into the markets, but this can change given how the market demand evolves with time.
It is said that Foxconn and Quanta are set to be the biggest suppliers for NVIDIA's GB300 AI servers and that the firms have already started the R&D process for the architecture. It is claimed that Team Green will switch entirely to "liquid cooling," which is why Foxconn is said to be the biggest beneficiary for NVIDIA's next-gen AI servers, given that the firm has adequate expertise in ensuring consistent production of Team Green's AI products.
The "Blackwell Ultra" lineup will mark the next phase of NVIDIA's "AI gold rush," and given the computational improvements we expect to arrive with the new AI products, the demand will definitely be on top as well.
