The vehicle was then carried by strong waters in the drainage ditch. Four people were rescued and taken to Sherman Medical Center, according to KXII. One person's body was recovered late Tuesday afternoon, and first responders have been searching for a missing 8-year-old girl. Police told KXII that the family was traveling from Durant to McKinney, Texas. Information about the family, including names and ages, has not been released. Crews, including Texas Task Force 2 and state search and rescue teams, have helped in the search that continued into Christmas Day. Police said they shifted their focus into the county, targeting some possible locations that had not been searched yet. "In crises like these, we are blessed to serve a community that so badly wants to help in any way they can," Sherman Police Department officials wrote in a Facebook post. "We have dozens of first responders involved in this search, many with extensive training in searching in hazardous conditions.
