Okaloosa County woman arrested after officials find meth, fentanyl, cocaine: OCSO

OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) -- A Northwest Florida woman with an active felony warrant was arrested on drug charges after officials said they found substances hidden in a seasoning container during a search warrant last week.

Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office officials identified the woman as Karen Belinda Hyler. Hyler's arrest comes after the OCSO's Multi-Agency Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at her home in Shalimar, Florida.

During the search, officials said, they found 11 grams of a crystal substance and eight grams of a cream-colored powdery substance in a seasoning shaker hidden in a kitchen cabinet. Officials also found a cut straw with powdery residue, according to arrest reports.

Following a search, officials said tests for the substances came back positive for methamphetamine, fentanyl, and cocaine.

Officials said that Hyler, who had a previous drug arrest following a 2022 search warrant, was found to have had an active felony warrant for grand theft out of Okaloosa County.

Jail records show that Hyler was booked at the Okaloosa County Department of Corrections on Dec. 18 and charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, trafficking in fentanyl, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
