Henrico brothers arrested, charged after 17-year-old found dead in backyard

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The Henrico County Police Division has arrested two brothers in connection to a homicide where a 17-year-old boy was found dead after he was shot in a backyard.

On Friday, Dec. 20, 19-year-old Malik Rashaad Bowman Witcher and 20-year-old Jaquan Lamario Bowman Witcher were arrested and charged in connection to the death of a 17-year-old boy who was found shot dead in a backyard near an elementary school in Henrico County on Dec. 16.

At around 6 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 16, officers with the Henrico County Police Division were dispatched to the 3300 block of Reynolds Road near Harold Macon Ratcliffe Elementary School for the report of a person shot.

When they arrived, officers found a 17-year-old boy in a backyard with significant trauma who was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to police, the Henrico brothers were charged with the following in connection to the homicide on Reynolds Road:
