A Vikings-Falcons game could be fun, except that happened last week with the Vikings thumping the Falcons 42-21. Looking at their season, the Falcons looked suitable for a hot minute but now have the exact win total as the San Francisco 49ers.
So, hope for some fun games, but don't get your hopes up too much. Put some Christmas/Festivus/Hanukkah (or whatever holiday you celebrate if you do) presents aside to wrap, clean your home, and have a good distraction, just in case.
As stated, the Vikings are coming off a 42-21 win over the Atlanta Falcons. Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold threw five (5) touchdown passes and 0 interceptions with a passer rating of 157.9. That's just .4 below a perfect passer rating. This is a situation you consider a "perfect" game. It's like in baseball when someone bunts on the last at-bat in the ninth inning to ruin a perfect game.
It feels like ages ago that the Bears got mollywhopped by the 49ers, but that was just last week. Their offense managed just over 200 yards the entire game. The 49ers looked like the 49ers of 2025. When you look at the 49ers' loss to the Los Angeles Rams a few days later, it makes Chicago look even worse.
This is a divisional game, and those are always interesting since these teams play each other twice a year, but the Bears have a litany of issues, and the Vikings are a possible Super Bowl team.
FanDuel Sportsbook has the Vikings favored by 7 points. Even with that spread, I'm taking the Vikings here. That's not enough points, and the Vikings should have this in the bag by halftime. The Over-Under is set at 43.5. Since I think this won't be much of a game, take the under and hope for a lot of running to drag the clock down.
The Falcons are now on a four-game losing streak. It's hard to figure this team out. They've beaten the Tampa Bay Buccaneers twice and have a victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. They also had ugly losses to the likes of the New Orleans Saints. The Falcons got slapped with a schedule that is on par with something you'd expect the NFL to hand the 49ers: Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers, Pittsburgh Steelers. Things get more manageable for them from here on out, however.
The Raiders are the Raiders. They just got done losing to the Buccaneers, but that still seems overlooked to the game two weeks ago against the Chiefs. That game was the most Raider thing you have seen in years, alongside the most Chiefs thing you'd seen in years: The Raiders were in position for a game-winning field goal, only to get nailed for a dead-ball foul. The "fumble" was recovered, and the Chiefs regained possession. Even without officiating controversy (a Chiefs sort of thing), the Raiders screwing up a game that's gift-wrapped for them is what you come to expect from the Raiders. They have only two wins, tied with the New York Giants for the worst record and fighting for the first pick in the draft.
FanDuel Sportsbook has the Falcons favored by 5.5 points. Take the Falcons. I'll again depend on them to make this more than a touchdown victory. The Over-Under is set at 44.5. Give me the over here; I think the Falcons got a few touchdowns in them to get past that threshold.
