BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- WKU Volleyball's Katie Howard has been named a recipient of the Conference USA Spirit of Service award, as announced by the league on Friday. The award honors student athletes who have made significant contributions in their
community, in the classroom, and in their sport.
Howard has completed nearly 40 hours of community service throughout the fall semester and has participated in a number of community service initiatives such as Angel Tree Christmas Shopping, High Five Fridays, Bat Out Breast Cancer, and Mental Health Town
Hall.
A native of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Howard is pursuing a degree in physical education with a health with plans of staying in Bowling Green after graduation. She finished the 2024 season ranked third in service aces per set (0.28) and fifth in digs per set
(1.07). She posted a season high 31 digs against Kentucky at the Bluegrass Invitational while logging four three-ace matches throughout the season.
