A former Plaquemines Parish School Board maintenance worker has been arrested and accused of worker's compensation fraud. Claude Allen Philips, 47, of Port Sulphur was arrested and is facing a charge of misrepresentations concerning benefits over $10,000. According to Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill, special agents received a complaint that the maintenance worker may have knowingly committed worker's compensation fraud. Murrill's agents found "overwhelming amount of evidence" that Philips received financial benefits he was not entitled to. Philips surrendered to the agents at the Plaquemines Parish Jail, where he was placed under arrest and booked.
