New York will require more efforts to prevent musculoskeletal injuries among warehouse workers at and other large employers under legislation Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) signed into law.
The measure (S5081 / A8907) approved by the governor Saturday is the state's second attempt at improving warehouse safety, expanding on a 2022 law that restricted the way warehouse employers use work-speed and productivity quotas -- often monitored by electronic systems that critics call "robot bosses."
