An unpiloted cargo spacecraft undocked from the International Space Station (ISS) on Dec. 16, heading back to Earth "packed with science," NASA said.
Footage from astronaut Don Pettit shows the Dragon cargo capsule undocking from the ISS, "carrying the spoils from our research," he said.
NASA reported that the spacecraft would make a parachute-assisted splashdown off the coast of Florida on Dec. 17.
Filled with nearly 6,000 pounds of crew supplies, science investigations, and equipment, the spacecraft originally arrived to the orbiting laboratory on Nov. 5 as the 31st commercial resupply.
